What exactly do you guys sell?

We sell premade designs (aka "Skins") for vBulletin and Invision Power Board forums. These designs are merely something to dress your forums with. We do not sell the forum software itself, just a design that you can install on your vBulletin or Invision Power Board forum after you have the forum installed.

What is a skin?

A "skin" is an industry term for "design" or "template". It's just how all of the cool kids talk :) A skin can be installed on your existing vBulletin or Invision Power Board forum to alter the look and feel of it. We do not sell the underlying forum software itself - just a design to go on top of it. We also do not provide web hosting. Before you can use our products, you must first have web hosting and own either a vB or IPB license. I think somebody stole your skin and is using it illegally! What should I do?

Unfortunately we live in a world full of people begging for a free lunch - people who are also not appreciative of the work that we do. There do come times when somebody passes around or stumbles upon an unlicensed version of our skin. All of our work is copyrighted, and wrongful use is a violation of United States Copyright Laws. If you feel that somebody is wrongfully using one of our skins, please report it to us immediately. Your identity will not be revealed. We take all reports very seriously and prosecute all violators to the fullest extent of the law.

Will you create a customized skin just for my forum?

Thank you for the interest in custom services, but unfortunately at this time, we are not performing custom work. We feel that it is in the best interest of our customers to place 100% of our focus on the quality of our premade templates that we offer for sale.

Products

What web browsers and resolutions are your skins compatible with?

Our skins are tested for compatibility in the following major browsers:

  • Internet Explorer 7 and 8
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Google Chrome
  • Apple Safari
  • Opera

All skins are designed for a minimum resolution of 1024x800 and should not be viewed in a lower resolution. All skins are compatible with any resolution higher than 1024x800.

What is included with each skin?

Every skin will include all templates and images that are required to install the skin on your forum along with detailed installation instructions to walk you through installing the skin step-by-step. We also include layered .PSD files with each skin. A .PSD file is the original image source file that was used to create the skin. You can open this file in any program that supports .PSD files (ie: Adobe Photoshop or GIMP). All .PSD files contain the basic logo, header, and buttons for the skin. Most .PSD's also include elements used to create things such as the sidebar, forums, categories, etc.

Will you help me customize my skin after I've purchased one from you?

Absolutely! We will be more than happy to assist you with changes that you would like to make to the skin. If you need any assistance, just create a ticket at our Helpdesk after your purchase. Please note that we do not guarantee that we can provide assistance with any and all customizations that you wish to make. This is one of the many ways that we are able to maintain such low prices. We will do our best to provide the best guidance and sets of tools for you to modify our skins, but we cannot promise support for any and all customizations or modifications to our skins.

Will I receive any updates for my skin as my forum software changes versions?

We currently have 2 license models - yearly and lifetime. Both license structures allow you to use the skin on your forums forever. The difference between the two is access to skin updates and priority member support. With the yearly model, you receive 1 year of access to any updates we release for your skin as well as access to our priority helpdesk. Once this initial year has passed, your license will be marked as "Expired", and you must renew the license if you wish to receive updates or support. If you're fine on your own, no need to renew - continue using the skin for free! The Lifetime license structure gives you lifetime access to skin updates and support - you'll receive both forever!

What exactly am I allowed to change on my skin?

After purchasing a ForumFlux skin, you are free to change just about anything you would like to on the skin. You are free to use the images or elements from your skin anywhere on your website (even outside of the forum directory), however, you can only use elements from your skin on the domain that your skins is licensed to. You are also allowed to change the look and feel of any images or text in the skin, with the exception of the "Designed by ForumFlux" text at the bottom of the skin. This text can only be changed or removed if you own a Branding Free license. For a complete list of what you can and cannot do with your skin, please refer to our Terms & Conditions.

Am I allowed to install the skin in more than one location?

You may install the skin as many times as you would like, however, you are only allowed to have the skin installed on one domain at any given time. If you wish to use the skin on more than one domain at a time, you will need to purchase multiple licenses. You are allowed to move your skin from one domain to another if you would like - as long as you do not keep it on both. The only exception to this rule is when you have two installations of one skin on the same domain for testing/development purposes. In this case, you can have the skin installed once for your live forums and a second time for your development/testing forums. The second installation must not be accessible to the general public.

Am I allowed to remove the ForumFlux copyright from my skin?

In order to keep our prices as low as possible, we include a link that says "Design by ForumFlux" at the bottom of each skin. You are not allowed to modify or remove this link with a standard license, however, if you do wish to do so, you may purchase a Branding Free license with your order. This is an option during checkout. If you do purchase the branding free option, you are entitled to remove our footer link from your skin.

How long does it take to receive my skin?

First, log into your Customer Area and verify that your order is currently marked as "Under Review". If it is not, please contact us. If your order is "Under Review", then that is great, just sit back and wait! All orders undergo screening and must be manually reviewed before being activated. This is usually done within an hour but can take as many as 24 hours depending on time of day, method of payment, products ordered, etc. We place all orders through this review process in order to prevent fraud and maintain the integrity of our products. Rest assured that our goal is to get your purchases to you as quickly as possible!

How will I know when my order has been activated?

You will receive an email as soon as your order is activated. Our emails can sometimes be blocked by spam filters, so you may wish to monitor your Spam/Junk folder or add our url forumflux.com to your "allowed" email list.

I ordered the Professional Installation Service. How should I get that process started?

As soon as you complete your purchase, please create a new ticket at our Helpdesk. Select the "Professional Installation" category and fill in all appropriate fields. Once we receive all of the information that we need, we will begin the installation on your forums. This will be completed within 48 hours. The sooner you submit the ticket for installation request, the sooner the skin will get installed on your forums!

Do you offer refunds?

Due to the nature of our company (selling digital products), we do not offer refunds. Please be sure before you complete any purchase that you are buying the exact skin that you would like. We also strongly encourage you to view our live demo forums to test out any skin before buying. We offer fully-functional demo's of all of our skins, so there are no excuses such as "I didn't know that's how it would look.". There is only one unlikely scenario in which we will consider offering a refund. This is when you have brought a proven bug to us that inhibits your use of the skin or diminishes its appearance significantly. If you have brought this issue to our attention and we have had sufficient time to find a resolution but are unable to do so, we will then consider offering a refund.

My Account

Where can I download my skins?

You can download all of your purchases in your ForumFlux Customer Area. Once you log into the Customer Area, hover over the "Customers" link in the main menu at the very top of the website. You'll be given a dropdown. Go to "Licenses" in order to download your purchases.

How do I change the License URL for my skin?

Log into your ForumFlux Customer Area, and go to "My Licenses" at the top. Click View next to the license you need to move. On the next page, next to the licensed URL there will be a link called "Change". Click this and follow the instructions.

Am I allowed to transfer my licenses to somebody else?

Yes, you are allowed to transfer any Yearly license to another person. You cannot, however, transfer any Lifetime licenses to another person. Follow these steps in order to transfer your Yearly license to another person:

  1. Verify that the new owner already has a ForumFlux account. If they do not have an account, direct them to our Registration Page.
  2. Create a new ticket at our Helpdesk. Include your license number, ForumFlux username of the new owner, and the URL that the new owner will install the skin on
  3. We will take it from there!
